ERGO — Overview

» Download - Download trial version of ERGO, the world's most powerful DSS solution

How it Works

ERGO helps simplify the process of making complex decisions by breaking down the task into simple steps.

1. In any decision making process, the first step is to organize your thoughts and define your needs. In ERGO terms, this means building a decision model.

build decision model hierarchy

Decision models are structured documents organized in a logical hierarchy, which define the parameters involved in making your decision. The hierarchical breakdown allows for multiple levels of abstraction, ranging from detailed specific functions, up to overall executive-level business requirements. The model structure also serves as a content management system for all documentation and reasoning behind your decision.

prioritize needs, set weights

2. Once the decision model is finalized, the next step in the decision making process is to assign priorities to your needs. Which items within the decision model are most important? Which factors are critical to your decision? What are your minimum requirements for certain key functions? ERGO allows you to easily define weights and thresholds. Weights can be defined relatively, globally, or through pair-wise comparisons. ERGO gives you far more weighing flexibility and accuracy than any other existing decision support system. If you want to add comments, pictures, or even video to support your reasoning, ERGO can handle multiple types of attachments.

Define Decision Alternatves, Score and Rank Options

3. The next step in making a decision is to properly define and rate potential alternatives. How well can a solution meet your needs and what are the methods you want to use to evaluate your options? What kind of scale do you use? ERGO offers unlimited types of rating methods, ranging from predefined or customizable lists to multiple numeric formats. This gives you the flexibility to score alternatives based on your own unique scale, in a language you understand. ERGO also gives you the flexibility to store research material and other documentation related to your decision alternatives.

View Results. Weighted Average or BestMatch Factor

4. ERGO provides multiple metrics to calculate how well an alternative meets your requirements. Using traditional weighted averages, patented composite indexing methods, or even a price/value comparison, ERGO can accurately quantify how and why you should make your decision.

Generate Graphs, Charts and Reports. What-if and Sensitivity Analysis

5. ERGO also provides a robust and powerful graphing and reporting engine, which allows you to analyze every element of a decision. You can conduct advanced analytics, such as sensitivity analyses or interactive what-if scenarios with drag-and-drop scenario editing capabilities. ERGO's reporting engine allows for the creation of over twenty types of fully customizable reports that can help document and justify your decision process.
